Christmas closure dates

Hi Everyone

Thanks for all your support this year! I hope we roll into an awesome 2021

We have decided to keep things simple this year. Dates below.

Closed December 25,26,27

Closed January 1

Christmas week: We have rostered extra drivers and hope to get your product out as soon as possible, but with the workload there could be slight delays.
We will be working through January with a skeleton crew. We will be dropping down to one driver during the first week of January so delivery times may vary

Have a great Christmas
Thanks Dusty

bakery access under current conditions - OK if you work there! :)

Hi people,

As a wholesale bakery, we don’t get many visitors, but under the circumstances, we are putting out this message…

As you know, COVID is not completely under control in spite of the current Level 1 status. The wellbeing of our staff and many customers must come first. For this reason, we know you will understand and appreciate that;

We are closing the bakery to visitors and personnel not employed to work there.

We are otherwise operating as usual. Deliveries will be permitted to specific, designated areas. (Please do not ask to use our bathrooms or visit for non-essential work as we do not wish to offend you by saying no.) Our staff will continue with all the health and hygiene regulations/checks that were implemented at the beginning of the pandemic.

Call Dusty if you have any queries, but we do thank you in advance for your understanding under the circumstances.

Stay safe and stay well everybody - Summer is closing in and so is the end of 2020!!!

Looking forward to Level 2 - really glad to live in this country too!

We were waiting for 3pm same as you. I don’t think this announcement was a surprise in terms of an extension of Level 3, but I’m so so glad it’s looking like Sunday is considered safe by the experts, which is really exciting for hospo especially.

We wish all the best to the people still working hard on this resurgence. We wish the best to all the home heroes throughout NZ. And, at this moment, we especially wish the best to all our hospitality friends who have done their best to work with restrictions towards a safe and healthy NZ. It is economically really challenging. You have our respect, guys!

In spite of the crazy international reporting (which has triggered some awesome Kiwi humour in response) we still support the NZ approach to this disease and to the longterm economic and health concerns it brings. So thanks also to our expert advisers and to those engaging in responsible media reporting.

Let’s stick with

EAT WELL. EAT LOCAL.

SUPPORT LOCAL. SUPPORT YOURSELVES.

We’ve got this!

Great news tonight - We are not prisoners of the pandemic!

Looks like we’re doing it again NZ! Yey all of us for the efforts made to give the authorities a chance to catch and contain this outbreak. I really love my community for being so willing to make it work.

Meanwhile, The Dusty Apron is open and delivering again tomorrow.

And - quoting the WHO Director-General, whose opening remarks at a recent media briefing were so good:

“We are not prisoners of the pandemic. Every single one of us can make a difference. The future is in our hands.”

Level 3 Auckland - The Dusty Apron open Saturday onwards

We decided to shut for a couple of days to give the authorities a chance to play catch up with contact tracing and understanding the outbreak. It’s kind of like pulling over to let the ambulance pass!

We’ll have everything ready to open again for contactless delivery (home delivery and wholesale) this Saturday.

Dusty will be adding more goodies to the home delivery pantry tomorrow.

Keep safe everyone.

Keep in touch

Dusty and the team

Alert Level 1 ...PHEW

Everyone just seemed so happy today.
I even won a reusable @seashepherd coffee cup from www.uyo.co.nz this morning. I never win anything so it must be a lucky day;
I feel hopeful about this recovery phase.
All the best to everyone. Let’s get on top of this recovery!!!
(Also, I didn’t see this Jacinda dance yet… is that a thing yet???)

If you want all the restrictions and advice then go to uniteforrecovery.govt.nz but the really important bits for us in the bakery are:

  • No restrictions on personal movement but people are encouraged to maintain a record of where they have been.

  • Stay home if you’re sick, report flu-like symptoms.

  • Wash and dry your hands, cough into your elbow, don’t touch your face.

  • No restrictions on workplaces or services but they are encouraged to maintain records to enable contact tracing.

  • AND obviously, maintain strict hygiene - so not too much is changing in how we function
