🌾 We bake traditional breads — and we use AI, too.
For centuries, artisan bakers have embraced new tools and ideas to improve their craft. Artificial Intelligence is today’s twist on that same spirit: a way to spark creativity, organise better, and explore new ways of working — while keeping our hands (and hearts) firmly in the dough.
We take this seriously. The use of AI requires careful, ethical governance, and we’ve been thinking it through for some time. Our approach is simple:
We use AI to help with drafting, organising, and creative brainstorming.
It’s especially useful at analytics and getting new perspectives on old problems.
Everything AI produces is reviewed by people. We welcome the feedback and opinion of our community.
We don’t use AI to handle sensitive personal data or make final business decisions.
We will stay attuned as best we can to data sharing practices in this new era.
We’ll continue to review and adapt as we grow — learning with the tools, not just from them. We’ll keep you posted along the way.
Adopting tools like AI is at the heart of what we call urban artisan, but it’s a new tool, so it’s worth a conversation.
(And: Yes, I wrote a draft for this post, then asked Chat GPT to improve it…)
